Daily Draw Five of Wands

Today’s daily draw is the Five of Wands. The picture in the Rider Waite deck shows a group of young men raising their wands in sport rather than battle. When I see this card in a reading, I take it to indicate healthy competition and the kind of challenge that makes you stronger. The energy is not about opposition or battle.

Additionally, the Five of Wands suggests a surge of energy and ideas, but it’s not the right time to take action. You might find it challenging to clarify your thoughts about something important and new in your life. This card indicates it is valuable to give your mind the space to play with the various ideas, allowing the best concept to rise to the surface. This card also speaks of healthy competition that benefits everyone involved. It’s about mental growth for all participants.

How can this energy manifest? You may have a new career endeavor or relationship in front of you, and today is a good day to open your mind, exploring different ways to consider or approach this opportunity. Play out various ideas or scenarios in your head, and you will see the best path forward.

I also like to review the general meanings in Tarot associated with the suit and the number. With this card, you should consider that Fives often indicate change, challenges, and fluctuations, both lucky or unlucky. Wands are the suit of thoughts and ideas and can represent situations that are in the very early stages of development.

A daily draw is about checking in with your Tarot Cards to know the energy of the day. If you are just learning Tarot, this can be an excellent practice to increase your familiarity with the cards. It’s also a great way to bond with your deck or decks if you use more than one tarot deck or oracle decks in your divination practice.

A daily draw can be performed in a variety of ways. You can shuffle and select your card with an open mind, asking the Tarot to tell you what you need to know about today or what today’s general energy will be for you. You can also ask a specific question if there is something weighing on your mind or unique to that day. You may find that even when you ask for a general energy reading, your cards will provide a response that addresses any challenge you are facing at that moment. When I perform a daily draw for posting like today’s Five of Wands, I ask my cards what the energy of the day will be for myself and my readers.
