A Guide to Energetic Empowerment

I have recently updated my work area removing a lot of clutter so the space feels and looks much nicer. In the process, I added a new sideboard table to go under a piece of art that I acquired last year. I had a very specific intent when I started looking for a table to put in this spot; I wanted an area to display some of my crystal collection!

I started seriously accumulating crystals about 3 or 4 years ago, and once I start something, I aggressively pursue it until I don’t. In the process, I create an abundant collection of whatever it is I like. Crystals have been the same, and this year I added some really beautiful and powerful gems to my collection. I have multiple crystal displays, with more to be created, but the one below is my newest, most intentional crystal altar to date and the big quartz sphere was a Christmas present from my partner. ❤

Altar-building is an act of intention. Whether you’re at the beginning of your spiritual journey, a seasoned witch, or simply a crystal loving faith-seeker like me, creating a crystal altar is a powerful way to connect with your inner wisdom and manifest your desires.

Choosing Your Space:

• Find a fitting location: Select a quiet, undisturbed space in your home. It could be a corner of your bedroom, a dedicated meditation nook, or even a windowsill bathed in sunlight.
• Cleanse the area: Before placing anything on your altar, cleanse the space with sage, Palo Santo, or sound (like a Tibetan singing bowl).

Gathering Your Crystals:

• Intuition is key: Choose crystals that resonate with you on an energetic level. Don’t overthink it! Pick up a crystal and see how it feels in your hand.
• Consider your intentions:
  • For healing: Amethyst, rose quartz, and clear quartz are excellent choices.
  • For abundance: Citrine, pyrite, and green aventurine can attract prosperity.
  • For protection: Black tourmaline, obsidian, and smoky quartz create a powerful shield.
• Start small: Begin with a few meaningful crystals and gradually add more as your collection grows.

Arranging Your Altar:

• Centerpiece: Place your most powerful or meaningful crystal at the center of your altar.
• Meaningful objects: Add other sacred items that hold personal significance:
  • Photos of loved ones
  • Incense holders
  • Dried herbs
  • Feathers
  • Candles
• Create layers: Use a cloth or a small piece of nature (like a piece of driftwood) as a base for your crystals.

Connecting with Your Altar:

• Set intentions: Speak your desires aloud or write them down on a piece of paper and place it on your altar.
• Meditate: Spend time in quiet contemplation, focusing your energy on your crystals and your intentions.
• Regularly cleanse: Cleanse your crystals and altar space regularly to maintain a strong energetic flow.

Your altar is a reflection of your unique spiritual journey. There are no right or wrong ways to create one. Allow your intuition to guide you, and enjoy the process of creating a sacred space for yourself.
