Home, Spring, and Solar Eclipse Echoes

It has been ten days since I have written. On Sunday 3/23, my son and I took off for a quick visit with my niece and her partner in southern Missouri. We had a good trip, despite it’s brevity and my niece having a surprise appendectomy. BTW, she is recovering nicely at home.

The trip was packed with different sights, sounds, and a welcome break from the familiar rhythm of our daily existence. These differences included an indoor pool that my son found lots of joy in while splashing around.🙂 There’s a certain magic in stepping outside your routine, a sense of liberation that allows you to breathe a little deeper and see the world with fresh eyes.

Yet, as with all journeys, the time to return arrives, and with it, a surprising wave of comfort. Stepping back into my own space, the familiar scent of my home, the comforting rituals of my day – it’s a gentle embrace, a reminder of the grounding power of routine. There’s a quiet joy in knowing where everything is, in the predictable flow of my days.

Still, even within this comforting familiarity, change is afoot. Spring, that whirlwind of rebirth, is in full swing. The air crackles with an intense energy, buds bursting into bloom, the sun climbing higher with each passing day. It’s a reminder that even in the seemingly static, life is constantly evolving, shifting, and transforming.

This feeling of rapid change is amplified by the lingering reverberations of the recent partial Solar Eclipse that occurred March 29, 2025. . The eclipse, a cosmic reset button, continues to stir things up, prompting us to examine our lives, our relationships, and our paths with a critical eye. I find myself navigating this space between the comfort of routine and the call to embrace change with a sense of mindful curiosity. How can I honor the need for stability while remaining open to the transformative energies of spring and the eclipse?

It’s a delicate balance, walking the line between the familiar and the unknown. But it’s in this liminal space, this sweet swing between routine and adventure, that we often find the most profound growth.

Perhaps the key is to cultivate a flexible routine, one that allows for both stability and spontaneity. To find joy in the familiar comforts of home while remaining open to the unexpected twists and turns that life inevitably throws our way.

As I settle back into my space, I’m reminded that home isn’t just a place, but a feeling – a feeling of belonging, of grounding, of being truly present. And in that presence, I find the desire and strength to embrace any upcoming transformation for myself and my family.
